Fayoum is the largest oasis within the western desert far away from Cairo or Giza around 95 kilometers long ,used to be as the basket for grain during the Greek and roman time ,developed by prophet Joseph during his captive in Egypt It was the center for worshiping the famous god Sobek the crocodile god It was founded around 4000 BC And it is a home for large number of historical sites from pharaonic and Greek and roman time It is also famous city for large number of palm trees ,lakes,nature,and wild life It has many protected areas like the famous lake Qaron lake , Wadi ElRayan,where lots of water falls with the magic lake also around 35 kilometers there is another famous protected area called wadi ElHitan or whales valley which was millions of years before apart from a big ocean And discovered by the 20th century Where you can see lots of fossil wales ,mangarouf trees. Guide will pick you up from hotel at Cairo or Giza with an air conditioned vehicle to drive towards Fayoum Upon arrival stop to visit the famous museum for Kom Oshim with lots of collections from Paranoiac time and Greek and roman time with lots of portraits Then having nice walking around the ruins for the old city from greek and roman time which called karanis To see the design of old houses and visiting the temples for Sobek god Then continue driving towards the oldest lake in the world ( Qaroun lake ) to enjoy with cool breath and watching lots of immigrated birds Then continue driving around the lake towards wadi El Rayan To see water falls Where you can enjoy having some pictures and relaxing near by the lake and having a break while having a drink there Then drive to El Medawara rock which is a rock formation than a real mountain Finally after Finishing your tour drive back to Cairo.
